UPDATE! April 21st, 2012
- New FAQs added at the bottom, and (hopefully) clearer instructions.
- It is important that I have your proper email addresses (please fill out the Google Form below AFTER your Donation) because I want to send you a private link to the current work-in-progress draft.
Create More Better Different has a way to go before being officially self-published. I need to finish writing and editing all the chapters. Then it needs to go to a (super cool!) copy editor for review. At the same time I will engage with an (amazing!) illustrator to create 40+ unique diagrams to accompany it. Then another round of editing. Then the design and layout. Then the conversion to as many ebook formats as possible, the first two being iBook and Kindle.
Right now you can help me realize this project faster by clicking the Donate button and contributing a minimum of $5.
IMPORTANT: After donating, please scroll down to the form below and fill out your proper name, email, and other information so that I can best serve your needs. If you have trouble finding your PayPal verification number, don’t worry about it.
Here’s what your $5 donation will get you:
- My perpetual, undying love and gratitude.
- Your name will appear in the Special Thanks section of my final book.
- I will email you a link to an exclusive beta draft copy where you can leave comments and feedback before the book is published.
- When the book is finished, I will send you an exclusive link to download an iPad, Kindle, and/or .PDF version for you to covet.
- Any extras or surprises that I see fit…
Here’s a sample of the first section, called READ ME FIRST, which sets up the entire book:
I wrote this book just for you. If you are an entrepreneur, a writer, artist, musician, or any other professional that requires creative talent then you should grab a copy.
Here’s what you can expect to get out of it:
- Understanding of what Creativity really is, in a grounded, demystifying sense.
- Insight into your creative strengths and weaknesses by discovering your specific Creative Type.
- Application of these insights by building a personalized Creative Toolkit specific to your goals & needs.
- Inspiration to create more, create better, and create different work than you ever have before.
If you ever needed a creative booster pack, power-up, extension, plugin, update, upgrade, expansion, or any other geek term meaning taking it to the next level, then you will like this book.
If you ever felt disappointed by books on creativity because they were either a neurology thesis or a whiz-bang exercise in cool brainstorming gimmicks, you will like this book.
This book is not a replacement, but a complement, to the beautiful and scholarly books out there on the subject of Creativity. In some ways this is the ‘string theory’ of the creative practice, a universal platform to bring all creative methods, systems, and theories into its fold. You can decide what works for you and what doesn’t, what observations you find valid and what exercises you find useful.
The world is requiring us to think faster, solve more complex problems, and be more adaptive than ever before. This book should give you an edge in this, the Age of Ideas.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- Add your name in the book,
- Send you email updates,
- Know your eBook preferences,
- Send you the final eBook.
When will the book be finished?
I wish I knew! I am aiming to have a rough draft completed before May 1st. It may take shorter, it may take longer. Your help will make it shorter. :-)
Will you publish a ‘real’ book?
We could get into an interesting philosophical discussion about what is real and what isn’t. But if you mean a physical copy, I’m taking a ‘wait and see’ policy. Digital books are virtually free to publish and distribute. Physical books get more complicated with warehouses, distribution, etc. But if there is a big enough demand, I will not rule it out.
Is Jason Theodor even your real name?
Nope.
