Twitter Tweet Sheet

UPDATE: Tweet Sheet 2 is now available, with updated geekiness. Check it out here.

There’s one things that annoys me about Twitter. Okay, there are two things:

  1. They are always down.
  2. There doesn’t seem to be one official place (including their own site) to get a complete list of mobile and IM commands.

I have fixed all that. Or at least I have fixed #2. I have created an exhaustive, ultra-portable, business-card-sized tweet sheet that you can download, print, cut out, and stick in your wallet or purse. Just click on the image below to download the pdf. Don’t all thank me at once, just go to twitter.com and follow jted.

UPDATE: v1.1 has fixed the “PERSOANAL” typo. Not sure exactly what Perso-anal Commands are, but they are now gone.
UPDATE: Another typo has been fixed after almost a year: FAVE now reads FAV. Also, Twitter has disabled TRACKING indefinitely.

    SWEET, THANK YOU.
  • Awesome cheat sheet! Thank you so much. Oh, and I would love to follow you, except Twitter is down at present! :-/
I'll make myself an old fashioned reminder on a scrap of paper to follow jted!

Why is it, that when I use these commands, I end up with a tweet stating the command, instead having the information requested being displayed?

The only command that does work for me is 'STATS'.
    Thanks!
  • what is the # sign used for?

    great tweet sheet!
  • It's Feb 2009 ... they've now got their act together ... plus they are dominating everybody's chatter
  • Dear Jason,

thank you very much for providing these helpful information. I did now even knew half of it. TY
  • Thanks! I have been looking for something like this for 3 months now.
  • If Twitter is always, or almost always, down. When are there so many people using it for whatever reason? Will it be better to spend time on other social networking sites?
  • Kurt, you are right. There's another typo. FAVE should read FAV. Luckily nobody uses the FAV command, or it would have been caught a year ago. Obviously I need an editor.
  • Kurt
Thanks for the cheat sheet. Shouldn't it be "FAV" instead of "FAVE"?
  • Thanks for the tweet sheet. It's a real help.
  • Thanks! I passed this on to my sister and mother in the hopes that they use it (yes, mother has even joined Facebook :-| )
  • Dude! Thank you for this! Uber-useful and I'll stick it in my wallet next to my Google Text Messaging Guide... Cheers!

Thanks for creating the cheat sheet. I've added it to a blog post I just wrote for my college freshmen, and linked back to you.
  • Thank you thank you!

Loved it so much I made it into a mobile card so I would always have it with me:
Text Get Twitter to 555211 to get it on mobile.

To view on the web, head here ttp://www.555211.com/xdealer/simpleview.aspx?root=d7b83794-e8dd-42ef-96cf-149a8dc59b59
  • +1 point for pun use. Wonderful cheat sheet.
  • Thanks for compiling this!
I've passed on to all my Twitter followers!

    Maria :-)
  • nice tips. thank you.
  • Hi Jason,

Can you take a look at my post on Twitter command issues and give me a hand understanding precisely how it works

The idea is a more detailed version of your tweet sheet
  • thank you
  • great job!
  • Jared, you are correct. "Tracking" doesn't seem to be functioning, although they (Twitter) did claim that it would work. It is either on it's way to being implemented, or else it is being phased out. Take your pick, it still doesn't work.
  • Your cheat sheet looks good, thanks for making it.

I don't think "tracking" is a twitter command, though; I just tried it to little avail.
  • Jason Shellon points out a GLARING typo in the Tweet Sheet. Good thing I gave the damn thing a version number. I'll create Tweet Sheet v1.1 tonight and upload the correction. This is what happens when you don't have an editor. ;-)
  • Mind reformatting it to fit nicely as a back-of-blackberry curve sticker?
  • Minor typo on the sheet, it should say "Personal" instead of "Persoanal"... because that's perhaps something different.
